Click on the link above and you will see Bono crying! Why may you ask, is Bono crying? Because he was sad that I was not the winner at 5pm from the radio station when they announced the winner to the trip to Ireland to see the band play in Dublin. :(

My local radio station had a contest to win a trip to Ireland to see U2 in concert in Dublin. Whenever a U2 song played on the radio, and you were the 15 caller to the station you were put in a drawing to win the trip. 4 winners qualified a day for 5 days resulting in 20 names being qualified. I have a 1 in 20 shot. I called everyday every time I heard a song.......the busy signal became my friend. Well, on Thursday on my day off I really devoted time to qualifying for the contest. I almost missed it. I heard the dogs barking and went to see what all the commotion was about. NOTHING, of course. Well, I came back in the room and sure enough I hear the Sweetest Thing playing. I started yelling "Where's my phone". Found it and dialed several times getting a busy signal. Well, I decided to use some visual imagery and started talking to the phone as If I had just won, well all of a sudden in starts to ring and I could not believe it. I won! A CD that is, as I still have to have my name drawn on Friday after 5pm. Hey, it has to be someone, so it should be me. And quiet honestly I can't think of anyone better than moi. :)

Nature Preserve Hike

Hubby and I decided to take a hike thru a Nature preserve close to our house. We had fun. We have gone several time, sometimes early in the morning in hope of seeing a lot of wildlife and once because we are big goons late at night around 11pm on a full moon so we could scare the wits out of each other. And yes I did get majorly spooked. Think Blair Witch project or anything your imagination can create in the dark in the woods. I know, seriously we need better ways to entertain ourselves. In reality the biggest thing living in the preserve is gopher tortoise's. And I think the animal tracks were from a raccoon.

Boycott "ORPHAN" Movie - Petition Spot

Boycott "ORPHAN" Movie - Petition Spot

A new movie called ORPHAN will be released this summer. I encourage any and everyone to not see it but also to boycot the movie with the above link. The premise is that a older child who is an orphan is adopted but that she is a bad seed and is does horrific things to her family. Honestly, society already presents Adopted children as second best or as acts as if a adopted child is the 2nd choice when couples cannot have biological children. Or how many people have your heard say " Oh, you don't want to adopt because you might get a bad kid." I think this movie perpetrates that idea. Yes, I realize that all the above mentioned stuff is a inaccurate, but that is the harm of movies like this.

Tree almost hits my car!

Imagine my surprise to find this at the end of the day, in the parking lot. I always try to avoid parking near trees, but it was the only spot available today. I am also glad that I make it a point to not park close to the curb, since my car has a low front.
This is the branch! Thank God it did not fall on anyone. It landed on the median between the cars, that I walked over after I got out of my car. Can you say major head injury.

This is the view from inside the drivers side of my vehicle.

Today Is my Birthday!!!

Headed to the Magic Kingdom for my day. I decided to take advantage of the free admission to any one Disney Park for your Birthday. Decided to go to the Magic Kingdom. It has been about 5-6 years since my last visit.

We got in before the park opened since we took a special vip tour ( not free) called Keys to the Kingdom. Way Cool. It is a 5 hour behind the scenes tour that includes lunch. You get to go down into the underground tunnels, see where the employees work, the characters, ride a few rides and learn some secrets. For example, all you FSU fans, if you ride Splash Mountain and check out Briar Rabbit befor the drop and listen carefully You will hear him yell "Go FSU". Since the Imagineer that worked on the ride was a FSU grad.

Roy Disney ( Walt's brother) and Minnie. After the tour ended around 1:30, we headed home to check on the boys, then headed back to the park around 6:30pm. Had Dinner at the Magic Kingdom, rode about 4-5 rides and then midnight came and it was time for this Cinderella to head home. It was a great Birthday.

Alex made another real estate investment. We have a Castle now.!

Sunday we headed over to Baldwin Park in Orlando to the 6Th Annual Doggie Art Festival. We took Dixon with us today and left Mason at home. Dixon has been acting up lately so we thought a little one on one time would be good for him. We saw several artist and dog product vendors. It made for a nice Sunday afternoon stroll. Definitely tired out Dixon, he was zonked out once we hit the car and went to sleep again after we got home. Above are a few pics of some of the artist and a cute little dog that according to his owner likes to wear Sunglasses..........hmmmm I don't know but he certainly did not seem to be bothered by them.

5K here we come

This time we were in the lovely town of Windermere for thier 8th Annual Run among the Lakes. What a great place to do a Run/Walk.
Mom and I walked it of course, as did a lot of other people. This one was a little more challenging to walk due to the uneven dirt roads, but we did it. I was a little nervous that Mom was not going to be able to finish, but she did! No medal at the end but we did have Chick Fil A and Panera Bread offering a light breakfast and free water bottles. Good enough for us. Then afterwords we hit up several community garage sales in the area and did a little mall shopping. All in all it was a good Mom/Daughter day. .

As many of you know, my dear cat of 10 years Sassy has been missing since February 15th. I have resolved myself to the fact that she is more than likely not coming home. I have had cats before and they have all either died of old age or a illness..........but they have never simply disappeared. My husband saw not one, or two ,but three coyotes several days ago around 5:30 am about 1/2 mile from our house. I believe that the coyotes have gotten my Sassy. I am not only extremely sad, but angry.......angry at myself as I should have never let her out that night and I should not have fallen asleep. I was in a routine as was she and I got too comfortable as I have never had a cat killed by a predator. I am just so disgusted. I am going to replace my Lost Cat posters with Coyote sighting posters.......to warn others.

Thursday, April 2nd is the final episode of ER.............I love this show. I know, I know. Hardly anyone watches this show anymore, but I don't care. It has been on T.V. most of my adult life, perhaps that is why I have enjoyed it so much. Just like the characters in the show, I have changed just liked the character and have had people come and go in my own life. I work in a Hospital and in the 15 years I have been at the hospital, I am like Carter........one of the few left. Even he left and know he is back...hmmm.

Anyway, I will definitely be watching the last show.....I just hope I don't cry too much. I think , no I know, I cried the hardest when Dr. Greene died. So very sad as he was my favorite character, with Carter being my 2nd. I will admit there were a a few years I did not watch as closely after Dr. Greene died.........but I came back year before last so I was shocked and saddened again when Dr.Pratt died. Anyway the cast is newer but I have enjoyed thier character's life stories in the show. Many people watch Gray's Anatomy, but ER was the original and I have only made time for it. I don't watch much TV in general......mostly HGTV, Animal Planet, History channel stuff. But this is one show I will truly miss. It's weird how attached you can get to a T.V. character, but I would say that is a testament of how well the actors have played their parts.

Disney Princess Royal Family 5k

This weekend was the Disney Princess 1/2 Marathon. On Saturday Disney sponsored a Royal Family 5k for everyone. My Mom and I participated in the 5k and it was soooo much fun.
Beauty and The Beast were at the start of the race and cheered us on.
Since the 1/2 Marathon is a princess theme ( women's only race) well there was a Princess at every turn. . Even during the 5k..........I think Snow White is my favorite.

Mom conquering Epcot. The 5k took us thru Epcot before the Park opened. We had to be there at 6:15 am for the 7 am race

I am very proud of my Mom. She has been having trouble with her feet, but she did the walk and actually made good time, I just slowed us down a bit from taking a lot of pictures. Many people ran competitively but we did the Race/Walk for fun. As life is not a race ,but a Journey.....especially while at Disney. :)

We finished........Here we are with our Disney medals

So much fun..........I encourage everyone if they are in Orlando next year to participate. The whole weekend is set up so that the family members of the racers of the Marathon can participate in the weekend. The Royal Family 5k was for everyone, they even had kid races afterwords and a Breakfast with all the Disney Princesses. Today is the 1/2 Marathon which is 13 miles thru the Magic Kingdom. It is really nice how Disney has the employees out to cheer you on along with the Disney Characters during the race to encourage you. Honestly I just love Disney.......I am so glad that we live close enough to enjoy the theme parks.

Day 5.......still hopeful! Many people have told me that they have had a pet cat missing for weeks.........Sassy has never wondered off before though...........I am praying for the best!

" Help" My Sassycat is missing.! :(

I am so sad. As of Valentine's Day my cat Sassy has been missing. It is all my fault. Valentines night she was scratching and meowing constantly to go out.......I relented. If I let her out at night I normally give her 15 minutes and then open the door and let her back in. Except that night..........I fell asleep as it was past midnight when I let her out. The next day I slept late and thought she had already been let in the house by my husband and let back out. That afternoon I realized I had not seen her...............looked all over. That night I went out several more times until about 1:30 am. I took the following day off to spend the day searching the neighborhood. Went to CVS pharmacy to make copies of this picture to distribute in a flyer to over 300 local homes.
I am hating myself and so sad because I can't stand to think about what or where she is. I have been praying so hard........please say a prayer for Sassy's safe return..........I am beyond myself.
