Neil Diamond

I took my mom to see Neil Diamond last night at the Amway Arena. The place was packed! He performed for two hours straight. Many of his old hits and several new ones. He certainly put a lot of heart and soul into his concert. I never knew he was a man of strong faith or such a humanitarian.

During the concert he announced that sales from all his merchandise would go to a Hurricane Relief fund in Texas. He also sang several inspirational type songs and refered to the man upstairs frequently during the last few songs of the concert. I don't know a lot about Neil Diamond as the concert was mainly for my mom, but he was a great performer.

Barack Obama in Orlando

It was exciting to be a part of history today. To see the man who may be the next President of the United States and possibly the first Woman president in 2012 :) Thier speeches were awesome and the energy of the crowd was unbelievable.
Secret Service Agents were everywhere on top of all the buildings

Below is the crowd behind us, we later found out it was over 3 miles long and one of many lines.

Obama was in Orlando a few days ago. It is estimated that 60,000 people showed up at the arena. I was home that day because Dixon was sick and I took him to the vet that morning. Dixon is to be confined to his crate for the next 4weeks due to a back injury. I was sitting around moping and my friend Joanne suggested we go down and check out Mr. Obama. Alex ( a Republican, but good husband) said I should go instead of moping around the house all afternoon thinking about Dixon, so I did. When we arrived there must have been 1,000 people there. We figured there was no way we would get close. Well as I say.... desperate times call for desperate measures. My poor back can't take standing for 4 hours straight so I went to the front of the line and offered a teenage girl $10.00 to let me and Joanne get in front of her. She said yes, but that the money was not necessary. I insisted she take it since since I felt guilty about jumping ahead in the line. Later two girls mysteriously showed up in front of us, but we did not say anything. Well, we stood there for 90 minutes and the gates opened and we ended up long story short about 50 feet from the stage. What an experience! We are both registered Republican ( yes I voted for him) anyway the crowd was energized and excited. We were both very excited to see Hilary Clinton . She walked out with Mr. Obama and what a amazing speaker she is. Then Barack Obama started his speech. People went crazy. What a mixture of Diversity! French, Haitian, Jamaican, Spanish and Caucasian folks.

Prayer for Dixon

IF you are reading this blog, please pray for my little Dixon. He has had some vomiting and diarrhea the last few days, but was doing better. Tonight he began to walk in a hunched position and show signs of pain and discomfort. We took him to the emergency vet. He has a diagnosis of Gastroenteritis ( with unknown cause). He will see our vet tomorrow. He is a sweetie and I CANNOT EVEN THINK OF THE POSSIBILITIES. I believe in prayer, so please say one for him.
